I have returned from Chartres
home of the magnificent Cathedral
home of a medieval School of Wisdom
home of the 11th century medieval labyrinth…
a peaceful old inner city along the River Eure in France.
I have returned from brilliant-wise instructors
who wove together
ritual and music and art and history and poetry and culture…
a feast
for mind, body and spirit.
At the beginning, Kayleen Asbo said:
don’t worry about note-taking
instead
notice
notice
when the hairs stand up on your arms
notice
when a lump forms in your throat
notice
when yours eyes become moist and tears form
notice
when your heart is opened.
Later in the week I said to Kayleen:
I have never cried during lectures before!
Such was the depth of the offerings.
Hairs were standing up on my arms and a lump was in my throat
and tears formed and fell.
I wish I could convey the beauty and awe of this place to you.
Perhaps a glimpse into some images will impart
some of my noticing.
*** ***** *
The Cathedral, daytime and lit for the Festival of Lights.
One of the beautiful windows … a medieval book to be read for knowledge and inspiration.
A candle-lit walk through the old underground church
where Pilgrims entered and rested after their long journey.
The Labyrinth
The centre
Rituals with friends
Vespers
and
notice
this
A heart worn into the pathway.

Ponder
what makes the hairs on your arm stand up
what puts a lump in your throat
what brings tears to your eyes?
Notice
when your Soul speaks to you.
Sigh….!
